To keep your clippers in peak form cleaning and oiling is crucial. After each us clean hair from the clipper with a gentle brush. Wipe the body of the clipper with a damp cloth, then spray the blades with a hygiene spray and wipe with the cloth. Oil the blades regularly, placing three drops of oil on the teeth and two on the back of the blade. If the clipper has a taper arm, move this back and forth to work the oil through. If there is no taper arm, turn the clipper on for a couple of seconds to work the oil through.

Detachable blades are designed to be removed from the clipper without tools while adjustable blades are affixed to the clipper with screws. With detachable blades the length of hair is achieved by changing out the blade, whereas adjustable blades are calibrated by a lever in the side of the unit.
