Who doesn’t love the sun? Going away for a week or two is the highlight of the year for most of us and we all love laying around in the sun, soaking up its rays. We all look better with a tan, but selecting the right formula for your skin type and complexion can be a tricky territory and if done badly can end in premature ageing as well as the dreaded skin-cancer!
Prepare your skin
So you’ve finally got to the beach after an early morning trip to Gatwick, a strenuous flight and a clammy coach transfer. You’re going to want to get comfortable on your towel, quickly smack a bit of suncream on and relax – but wait! Don’t rush this stage. Prepping and watching where you’ve applied is essential in getting the most out of your tan. Before hitting the beach, we recommend using an indulgent scrub like Decleor’s Aroma Nutrition Grain Body, to smooth and soften areas like the elbows, hands, knees and feet. This stage is essential and results in a more even tan and healthier looking skin overall. Be careful not to over-exfoliate as this can weaken skin and make it susceptible to damage from UV Rays.
Defend Against Those UV Rays

Remember the dangers that come with staying in the sun for too long – your skin reaches a point where it can’t physically produce any more melanin, which means any time after that you are just subjecting yourself to unnecessary pigment damage. Accelerate Your Tan
Our biggest tanning secret is adding an accelerator to your sun cream. Tan accelerators are usually associated with using artificial sunbeds but are beneficial in boosting and regulating your production of melanin, making it easier to get a more even tan, faster. The more melanin your skin produces, the darker it becomes.
