The Skin Republic Foot Peel
We are well into the sandal-wearing season! I generally have a pair of well looked after feet, however when wearing open flat sandals, sometimes they can leave my heels a little dry. So when these Skin Republic Foot Peel landed on my desk, I was super excited to try them out! The Skin Republic foot peel combines 15 plant extracts into a serum that coats the inside of the booties. This includes Gingko Biloba (encourages the natural production of collagen), Green Tea (rich in antioxidants), Lavender Extract (stimulates cell growth) and Olive Fruit Extract (promotes smooth and supple skin). The Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHAs) found inside the serum removes dead skin cells and that’s what leaves you with baby silky soft feet afterwards.
I found the whole process very easy. You simply cut the booties on the suggested cut lines and slip the booties onto your feet for 90-120 minutes. I always use masks for the recommended time so I slipped on these booties for the full 2 hours as I settled in to watch Game of Thrones. I was happy to put my feet up for a couple of hours, and after my feet immediately felt softer and the serum left them smelling lovely and fresh
The peeling process…
The peeling process starts within a week and after a few days, I started to become impatient! However, on day 5 after I had a shower, my feet had started to peel. It’s definitely not the prettiest thing to look at, which is why I’m not subjecting you to a photograph. I avoided wearing sandals during this time, as I’m sure friends would have suggested me to see a dermatologist. It was grossly fascinating, but my feet were peeling like a snake would shed its skin. I was shocked by how much they peeled (all over!) as I didn’t think I suffered from dry feet. The peeling lasted for about 3 days and my feet, especially around the heel were considerably smoother and softer. I would recommend bathing your feet in warm water to speed up the process. I will definitely be adding this to my “Get ready for Summer” shopping list every year. My feet are now super baby smooth!
The Skin Republic Collagen Hydrogel Under Eye Patch
I find this the ultimate under-eye pick me up. This is will definitely be my go to whenever I haven’t had much sleep and need some TLC. As soon as I applied the under-eye patch, I immediately felt a pleasant cooling effect, which is amazing if you find you get any puffiness under your eyes. I left them on for 30 minutes, the skin under my eyes looks lighter, brighter, and healthier even through to the next morning.
Once you remove them you can feel how lovely and moisturised the skin is. The eye patches contain Castor Oil, Collagen, Green Tea, Camellia Leaf Extract, Vitamins E & A, and Aloe Vera. All of these ingredients are fantastic for hydration, brightening, and plumping the skin. Unfortunately, I didn’t notice too much difference in my dark circles, but I think with regular use this might improve as the pack comes with 3 pairs of under eye mask. I also think these would also work best for older eyes as they are firming. One thing I would recommend is not to put them too close to your eye. I felt these were best used half an hour before bedtime with a cup of tea.
