If you haven’t heard of Olaplex, where have you been? Olaplex No. 3 Perfector is a revolutionary once-a-week hair mask that promises to restore dyed and damaged hair to its former glory by repairing the bonds of the hair from within. Celebrities are using it too, with the likes of Kim Kardashian using it whilst alternating between bleached blonde and brunette.
Olaplex is vegan and cruelty-free, so it’s the perfect way to revive your hair guilt free! As well as this Olaplex is also free from silicone, sulphates, phthalates, aldehydes, formaldehyde and gluten.
Recently, I have put my hair through the ringer. I’ve coloured it (balayage) I blow-dry it, straighten it, use products, and occasionally I like to add some more curls to my hair…it’s under a lot of stress!
My hair type:
I have very fine hair, but a lot of it! I am often prone to tangly, knotted hair where the ends are dry from colouring. When I leave my hair natural it tends to have an unwanted layer of frizz, which is why I find myself having to style my hair to make it appear softer. Before when my hair was its natural brunette colour I had no problems with frizz. Overall I’m super excited to use it and see what difference it makes to my hair.
How I applied:
After reading several reviews online, a lot of people have been commenting that they get the best results when leaving the treatment on overnight, so that’s exactly what I did. I dampened my unwashed hair and applied a thick layer of Olaplex from the roots to the ends of my hair. I then wrapped my hair into a top bun and slept with a shower cap on. There was no chemically smell or tingly sensation!
The following morning I rinsed my hair out and washed the Olaplex out with my Redken Colour Extend Shampoo and Conditioner. Whilst the Olaplex was washing out, my hair noticeably felt a lot softer and more glossy with the added bonus of a nice aroma.
Since using Olaplex:
So, how has my hair changed since using Olaplex No.3? I have added shine and the natural curly waves I once had have returned! I can now leave my hair natural without looking like a frizzy bed head mess. My hair is super swishy and glossy.
Small but mighty! Although it’s 100ml bottle and it may seem like an expensive price tag to some, it is well worth it the price. My hair noticeably looks in much better nick after using it once. I reckon I can get 4/5 uses out of the bottle.
