What we think We tried Color Wow Root Cover Up on a variety of subjects with different shades of hair and every one of them was really impressed with the product. It really does make people go “WOW!” Our panel all thought it was one of the best products that they had tried for a long time. It’s particularly good for those people who have quick growing hair and who need to do their roots on a regular basis. The colour lasts a really long time, essentially until you shampoo.
The secret ingredient is its colour fixing agent, zinc stearate. This essentially locks the colour in and can only be broken by the cleansers present in shampoo. This means that should you need to quickly colour your roots for that big night out, you can rest assured that they’ll stay covered all night and will do so until you wash your hair.
All of our panel were impressed with the rapid results this product offered and the speed in which it could be applied. It promises to cover your root regrowth and it does so, very, very effectively.
What type of hair is it suitable for? Our panel had a variety of hair types from fine to thick and colours from black to blonde. Color Wow Root Cover Up was equally effective across all hair types and colours.
Are there any downsides? Not really. Some reviews have said that the coverage it gave wasn’t as good as the product promised but our panel all found it very good and couldn’t fault it. We suspect that it all comes down to how it is applied. Take your time and do it well and the product will work perfectly. There’s no discernible smell to it and the price represents great value for money.
How to use Color Wow Root Cover Up
- Color Wow Root Cover Up should be applied to dry/styled hair
- Start with a small amount of powder on one hand and use your other to pull your hair taut at the root and then dab the powder on the roots, starting at the scalp and working outwards.
- Repeat this until necessary until the roots are fully covered.
- Leave your hair to settle for a minute or two and then brush.
- If you find you have put too much Color Wow Root Cover Up on then simply blow your hair with a hair dryer whilst brushing.
