What we think Max Factor Lasting Performance is one of our most popular foundations and it’s not a surprise once you begin to wear it for a day. Promising a full eight hours of smudge-free coverage we thought might be a tough boast to live-up too but we are happy to report that it’s one that they can be proud of.
Although it is suitable for all skin types, Max Factor Lasting Performance is particularly effective on skin that is sensitive or suffering from acne, with many people reporting it being the foundation least likely to break them out in spots and rashes. It’s testament to its flexibility however that countless people with both oily and dry skin cite it as their number one foundation of choice.
It may not be the cheapest foundation you can buy but it soon becomes clear that it is one of the most cost-effective. This is because a little goes a long way, which means your purchase lasts a lot longer than other, less expensive foundations.

What type of skin is it suitable for? Like we mentioned earlier in the review, this foundation is suitable to be used on any sort of skin and from our tests and from anecdotal evidence, it works really well on a wide range of skin types. People with oily skin, dry skin and sensitive skin have all reported that this is one of the best foundations they have used on their skin.
Are there any downsides? Not really, it’s an excellent all-round foundation on all skin types. Some people aren’t so keen on the smell (we didn’t think it was a problem at all) and it doesn’t have an SPF (sun protection factor). However, you buy a foundation for its efficiency and quality as a foundation that you should be looking at rather than these peripheral features.
How to use Max Factor Lasting Performance
- To find the right shade for your skin tone, you should match the foundation with the skin on your jawline.
- Put a small amount of the foundation on the back of your hand and then coat both sides of your foundation brush. Then apply small amounts to the centre of your face and then apply outwards where needed.
- Apply the foundation as evenly as you can. Applying it in a good source of natural light will help you do this.
