Here are some of our new faves:
Powder One’s Lips
We’ve all heard of powdering one’s nose but lips are a new one. To make sure your lipstick lasts all day, use a translucent loose powder. When you’ve applied your lippie, simply place a tissue over your lips and dot on the powder with a brush. The tissue will stop your pout from going pale and the powder will guarantee long-lasting colour. Perfect!
Natural Beauty
With the current trend for au naturel looks, no-makeup makeup is one of the most desirable styles out there. To give yourself a natural flush, try applying your blusher underneath your foundation. Your cheeks will still have a rosy glow but it’ll look far more wholesome. It’s worth noting though that this will not work with a powder blusher! Go for a creme blush or cheek stain instead for the best effect.
Take That on Credit
Winged eyeliner. It’s the bane of our l-eye-ves. If you’re constantly struggling to get yours perfect, take a tip from our favourite Instagrammers and whip out that credit card. No, we don’t want you to use it to hire a permanent makeup artist, it’s actually the perfect shape for getting your cat-eye spot on. Simply line the card up between the outer corners of your eye and eyebrow and use it as a guide to draw on your liquid eyeliner. Instant perfection.
All White Now
It’s hard to believe but, when we do our own makeup, we don’t always end up looking like the models we pin on Pinterest. If you’ve got an eyeshadow that just doesn’t come out as colourful as you’d expected it to, why not try the white eyeshadow trick? Grab a white or very pale nude eyeshadow (there are a few good ones in this Technic Electric Eyes Metalix palette) and shade your lids in white first. Any eyeshadow you then put over the top will be immediately intensified. Easy!
