As the models hit the catwalks for Spring/Summer ‘15, every beauty fan worth her salt was ignoring the fashion and craning to see this season’s hot new beauty looks instead. If you missed out on the shows, don’t worry, we’ve got the lowdown right here.
A Peck on the Chic
You heard it here first, bright lips are the key look for a 2015 summer evening. Red is the easiest go-to colour as everyone can find a shade to suit them but, if you fancy something a little more daring, opt for a hot berry shade like Max Factor’s Lipfinity Lip Tint in Royal Plum. Pair with a fresh-faced, barely-there foundation like Max Factor’s lightweight Facefinity and leave out the eye makeup to let your lips do the talking.
Rock Chic
Grunge girls rejoice because rock chick makeup is making a comeback. Borrowing from both glam rock and the swinging sixties, this look is typified by smoky black eyes, fresh skin and pale lips. Grab your trusty eyeliner and get lining those eyes — the smudgier the better — then dab a pink-toned concealer on your lips and finish with gloss for the perfect sixties-style pout. Ruffle up your hair with some L’Oreal Professionnel Tecni Art Scruff Me spray and you’ll look like you just rolled off the tour bus.
Pretty Chic
If bold and sassy isn’t your thing, SS15’s trend for pretty makeup will be. Modelled on beautiful ballerinas and perfect princesses, this trend is all about pink, pink, pink. Focus on lips and cheeks and go for dewy, youthful tints rather than heavy lipsticks and powder blushes (Max Factor’s Lipfinity ideal for this look). Finish with a hefty dose of L’Oreal’s False Lash Wings mascara for fit-for-a-princess fluttery eyelashes and you’ll look pretty as a picture in no time.
Bare Faced Chic
While we love all the beauty looks above, one looked ruled over all on the SS15 catwalks and that was Au Naturel. If the idea of going out completely bare-faced leaves you blanching then go for no-makeup makeup instead. You’ll need to find a foundation that matches your skin perfectly for this flawless look, L’Oreal Paris True Match Liquid Foundation is great for this as it’s designed to match both your skin’s colour and its texture. Cover any blemishes and dark circles and… that’s it! (Oh go on then, add a little clear mascara, we won’t tell anyone).
